As football is on the tellybox which means husband and football mad 8 year old are otherwise away with the fairies until it is over, I’ve taken to the blog to get away from it all.
The 4 year old isn’t bothered about football when it’s on, so he’s currently sat colouring in his Cbeebies magazine and practicing his writing.
As for me? Twitter, music playing on the cheesy local radio station, bit of writing and chain drinking Earl Grey tea, and that’s me sorted. Well, it’s not like I’m needed anywhere else so I’ve escaped while I’ve got the chance!
Is it too early to start watching Christmas films?! I’ve got an urge to watch Elf. Well, if the radio station is allowed to play Stop The Cavalry like it did yesterday, then I’m allowed to Elf watch.
It’s actually quite nice to not have to go anywhere this weekend, as the last two weekends we have been out, what with husband’s birthday and lots of shots and vodka drinking (note to self – you are too old to do shots, get a grip because you feel shocking the next day. You’re an old lady now, you know.) Even if the children are at their grandparents overnight and you get a great big lie in, you need to stick to water and tea because you’re a shot wuss.
So tonight, it’s a case of staying in, maybe watching Elf, or failing that there’s the X Factor and I’m a Celebrity Get me out of Here! on, and you know what? I’m looking forward to it. Now where’s my slippers and my hot chocolate?!

Never ever too early for ELF!!!
Whoohoo that’s what I always think too!
Hellooo fellow Earl Grey drinker! I’ve just discovered your blog through Netmums. Really enjoying reading your posts. Hmmmm, in past years we haven’t started to celebrate the countdown to Christmas until my husband (6th Dec) and my daughter (11th Dec) have celebrated their birthdays. But I must admit I wouldn’t mind snuggling down for a Christmas film or two today! Check out my blog if you get a minute, I’ve just started it up again. Look forward to reading more posts in the future, have just subscribed.
Hi, glad you’re enjoying my ramblings and thanks for subscribing! I’d be the same if any birthdays were in December in wanting to get the birthdays celebrated first – all summer babies here though so by now I’m thinking all Christmassy thoughts…
Will go check out your blog!
