- Mum to two small boys whirlwinds aged 9 and 5 years.
- Lover of all things cheese. Audible groans can be heard whenever I take control of the music at parties and valiant attempts (always futile) are made to wrestle the controls off me.
It’s not a party if you haven’t got Abba or Kylie going on. Hey, I’m not adverse to the YMCA or Agadoo either. Yes, I go there.
Even down to those depths.
- I’m a bit rubbish at gardening. Don’t trust me with your plants on holiday. They’ll be all sorry looking or have snuffed it when you come back sporting post holiday glows and tans.
- I’m fuelled solely by tea and Diet Coke or wine
- I can be found twittering away on Twitter (follow button if you want more ramblings at the right hand side of this blog – see you over there if so…)
- NCTJ media trained and have written many articles, including for The Guardian and The Yorkshire Times.
- Writing all about parenting, opinion pieces on parenting issues, and other related issues. If you’d like to contact me about my writing then you’re on the wrong page and try the contact page next to this one instead!

As you know, I’m thoroughly enjoying your posts (especially the Halloween one!) – and in honour of this, I’ve awarded you the Liebster Blog award. Here’s the link on my blog about what it entails http://wp.me/p1NbQD-a6 – looking forward to seeing who you award to! x
Hi there, I’ve nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award. Go here for instructions on what to do next: http://poetaofficium.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/kreativ-blogger-award/
Thank you so much for nominating me, I’ve just checked out your blog and am very flattered – glad you’re enjoying my blog!
Will have a think and join in…
It’s my pleasure, you deserve it
Hello – Your ‘about’ is very like mine – I am pleased to find a light hearted look at the mummy world beyond nappies and nipples (not that they aren’t a big part but it is nice to see the next stage reflected too). Also being the owner/manager of 2 small destroyers + a couple of the other sort too I am writing to keep sane, keep my brain alive and generally make my audience (probably of only 1) laugh. Check out my blog if you have a mo’.
Always good to find a fellow mum going quietly insane, although how you found me on Twitter I’ll never know because I don’t know how to use it. The journalism course sounds very interesting. I’m gearing up for another bout of education next year, still trying to pick something to actually commit to! First on the agenda though is learning to drive. It will not be pretty…
Wine and crisps gladly offered in return for friendship and war stories at the hands of small children!
Hi, was following as was looking for new blogs to read and stumbled upon yours, have added it into my list!
Didn’t realise you hadn’t used Twitter for over a year though! Doh.Need to learn to drive here too, I hopefully will one day!
I quite like this blog theme, I consider it to be the poshest one I’ve seen so far.
Just found you and can totally relate as a mom of two (9 and 7) back at work for two years after five years off and rediscovering my voice (my real one, not the multitudes yammering in my head!). Looking forward to browsing through your archives!
